It's that time of year again friends. Marathon has officially begun as of today 12 pm, April 4th, 2022. While this week is the culmination of months of hard work from many wonderful souls, it's also a celebration of something larger than just the work we have done this year. Read on to learn more about what marathon is, how to donate, and to read about our amazing events!
Really, Marathon is about celebrating the history of what makes WTUL so special and essential. Part of that is ensuring that we can continue to make history playing the best progressive music in New Orleans and as a proud non-commercial station, that means relying on donations from friends of the station.
There are a multitude of ways to support the station during these next two weeks! Listen in to WTUL 91.5FM as always, but the Marathon is a special time for the station. We have a special edition of the VOX coming out soon alongside merch you can get from donating and events happening throughout the next two weeks. Our official logo for the 52nd Annual Rock On Survival Marathon was designed by our very own Colleen Hugo and will be featured on many wonderful things, among them a very, very sick t-shirt that can be yours if you donate to the station. However, a t-shirt is far from the only thing that could help you commemorate your support this year. No matter how much you donate, you'll get a digital download code for our compilation album, Songs From the Basement, which was compiled this year by Grayson Arnold and Mason de la Houssaye.

“But Liv and Sydney, how do I donate? I can’t wait to throw my money at you and I have no clue how!”
Why thank you for asking! How kind. If you go to our WaveStarter page, conveniently located here, you'll be able to donate and view progress towards our goal of raising $15,000.
Beyond donating, you can also attend our (mostly) ticketed events. We kick off today at 9 @ Gasa Gasa on Freret St. What's that? A physical address? Yes! That's another exciting thing about this year -- we can do in-person events safely! And the trademark event you've all been waiting to hear about... the 24hr DJ Weekend! All of this madness will be taking place on the LBC porch (on Tulane's campus). Come in person to watch the magic unfold and maybe even participate in their ridiculously long (side note from Liv, who hopes to be a 24hr DJ at some point: I have no clue how people stay up for this long, my brain cannot make sense of it) sets filled with music, interviews, and perhaps even some hijinks. Our lineup this year includes:
DJ Mike5ive will be on air from Friday April 15th @ noon to April 16th @ noon
DJ J-date and DJ E-motion from Saturday April 16th @ noon to April 17th @ noon (featuring DJ Liz-E's kids show from 8-10 am with exciting activities such as egg hunts, live story time, and lots of arts and crafts!)
and last but certainly not least...

A special thanks to TUBE (Tulane University Broadcasting Entertainment) for producing a video that we hope implores you to give what you can.
Speaking to you as your Marathon demi-lords (we had fun with our titles...), none of this could happen without you. It has been a hectic, stressful, wild few months; and yet, it culminates in something absolutely wonderful that we are beyond proud of. Thanks for everything.
Peace,
Sydney and Liv
